JUST finished
reading Bobby Borg's book, "The Musician's Handbook, A Practical
Guide to Understanding the Music Business," and THIS IS ONE YOU GOTTA'
HAVE!
Now you know
I don't recommend many things and I prefer leaving it up to you to make
your own minds up, but The Musician's Handbook is going to be my first
recommendation for ANYONE wanting to get into a career in this industry.
Why? If this
book is your first read, it will either scare you away from the industry
or getcha' motivated. Yeah, it's a good "first filter." And
an easy read.
Bobby did
a lot of research and this book is filled with great quotes and anecdotes,
road stories, and important legal foundations to consider-okay, so the
legal part is a lil' dry, but IT'S IMPORTANT STUFF YOU NEED TO KNOW!-this
book wasn't designed the size of a Bible for nothin!'
Borg is a
musician like the rest of us and he's taken the time to document what
REALLY HAPPENS in the music business. When he says "been there done
that," you know it's true!
The Musician's
Handbook is a must have!
